Employee Spotlight: Laurel Etter Longenecker

Laurel is a Business Development Associate who has been with LandStudies for 3 ½ years, during which time she received a Master of Science degree in Resilient and Sustainable Communities from Green Mountain College in Vermont. Paired with her bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, Laurel has a multidisciplinary background in managing anthropogenic (human caused) environmental issues such as the causes and impacts of climate change, as well as resiliency planning and climate mitigation strategies. This includes strategies related to the agricultural, land use, energy use, transportation, supply chains, and resource management sectors.

 

Laurel assists with different aspects of LandStudies work, including project support and management, grant research and writing, business development initiatives, and representing the company at various stakeholder meetings, networking events, and conferences. She enjoys working for LandStudies because she values the staff’s expertise that allows them to proactively address land and water issues and manage those issues with sustainable solutions that provide environmental, economic, and social benefits to clients and their communities. She loves learning and looks forward to growing with the company and gaining more experience in the field of sustainability that will compliment her skills and education.

 

In her free time, Laurel is involved with non-profit organizations in Lancaster and in Nepal that focus on sustainable community development. From Lititz originally, she still resides there with her husband Bobby, with whom she enjoys traveling, enjoying outdoor adventures, and experiencing the many wonders of life with.
