SUMMARY:A Day on Lititz Run - as part of Lancaster Water Week 2018
DESCRIPTION:This year’s Lancaster Water Week\, which runs from June 1st – 9th\, will include “A Day on Lititz Run” showcasing the restoration efforts of local partners who are dedicated to protecting our waters. \nJoin Warwick Township\, Millport Conservancy\, Donegal Trout Unlimited and the Lititz Run Watershed Alliance for a multi-site tour of the Lititz Run Watershed. Tour sites and activities include: \n\nMillport Conservancy – Fly casting\, native plant nursery\, stream studies\, bee and bird workshops\nLititz Water Treatment Facility – Plant and trout hatchery tour\nRock Lititz – Floodplain restoration tour\n\n  \nVisit all 3 tour sites during the day to receive 1 free Water Week beer at Fetish Brewing Company! \nLandStudies will be giving tours of our floodplain restoration project at Rock Lititz\, which is followed by a Celebration at Rock Lititz with Fetish Brewing Company. \nCome on out and join us for this fun day of learning about and engaging in the critical role that water plays in your local community!

SUMMARY:Field Trip - Chestnut Grove: Habitat Restoration
DESCRIPTION:LandStudies\, Inc. provided professional services for native ecological habitat restoration relative to the development of the Chestnut Grove Natural Area. The site includes two parcels owned by the Lancaster County Solid Waste Management Authority\, which are being used for soil borrow activities for the future expansion of the Frey Farm Landfill. The project involves restoring native habitats and will ultimately result in a preserved natural area that provides both passive recreation and environmental education opportunities. This field trip will occur rain or shine\, be prepared to be outside and dress accordingly. Attendees will learn about designing\, installing\, and maintaining a variety of native habitat types\, learn about design and implementation of a recreational trail system and enhancing/expanding wetlands\, and learn about the associated permitting requirements for this type of project. \nApproved for 4 LACES (landscape architect) credits. \nCost $60 per person. \nFolks can register for this session as a stand alone and/or sign up for the main conference (Thursday/Friday) here https://NPILC.regfox.com/npilc-registration.

DESCRIPTION:LandStudies has designed and built nearly 100 green infrastructure sites in Pennsylvania\, with approximately 30 located near our Lititz (Lancaster County) Pennsylvania office. LandStudies will share its vast experience in water resource management and watershed planning with tour participants for the purpose of ensuring EPA compliance\, improving community well-being and providing economic value to stakeholders.
